Shrimant Maisaheb Bavdekar the founder of our school was born on 4th December 1915 in Sardar Raste family of Pune .
She was married to Parshuramrao alias Bhausaheb Bavdekar Pant Amatya , Jahagirdar of GaganBavda in 1935 . After the untimely death of her husband in 1942 she decided to study further . She studied with Madam Maria Montessori in Ahmedabad and also in Italy . After coming back she opened the first Pre Primary school in South Maharashtra "i.e Montessori Balmandir " in 1946 .Until then the concept of Pre Primary schools was unknown in these parts . Madam Montessori visited Maisaheb's School in 1950 and on seeing the progress called her Little Montessori of India .
